It has never been more important to be able to advocate for yourself when contacting My Aged Care to request help.

If I had a dollar for everyone who calls me for advice AFTER they have called My Aged Care, had an assessment and not received what they need, well, you’d find me on a beach somewhere….

Or a dollar for every well-meaning advocate who says ‘just call them and get in the system’. Now I am on a beach staying in a fancy hotel. With an infinity pool…

The massive issue with this is – once you have had an assessment, it is likely at least 12 months before you will have the opportunity to be re-assessed. Don’t waste it!

And with the changes, your assessment will dictate not only what funding you can access, but exactly what you can and cannot spend your funding on.

You MUST know:

– what you want

– what is available

– what it will cost

BEFORE you make that initial call.
